Discover student life at The Hayesbrook School
Choosing the right secondary school for your son is a big decision. It’s a decision we all want to get right, to ensure your child, our student, is happy and content at school, so they can achieve and be the best they can be. We believe the best way for families to discover more about student life at The Hayesbrook School is to invite parents, carers and children to sample our educational offering in person.
We had hoped to be able to welcome families to The Hayesbrook School Open Events this October and share with you all that is great about our academy and provide some useful insight to help you make the important decision about your son’s next educational journey.
As we continue to live in such uncertain times, the health and well-being of our students, staff, parents and the wider community is of highest priority to us all and as a result we have decided not to hold on-site visits at this time. Instead we will be providing a variety of different ways for families to access information about the academy, both visually, via an on-line tour of the school and through a selection of useful documents and resources. This will allow you to explore our varied curriculum and specialist departments, our extensive Enrichment and Extra Curricular offering, our SEND provision and our nurturing pastoral support (which this school prides itself on). This will also provide an opportunity to understand the benefits of an all-boys environment on your son’s progress. We are also offering one to one telephone conversations with members of the senior leadership team to answer any specific questions parents/carers may have.
For families who have already registered a place on one of our Open Events, we will be in contact with you very soon with details of how to access the virtual tour and other information.

Joint Statement from West Kent Secondary School Headteachers
Following discussion, the Headteachers of West Kent Secondary Schools have collectively taken the decision that for the foreseeable future all ‘Open Events’ for transition to secondary school in year 7 and for transition to the Sixth Form across our schools will be hosted online, not on our school premises.
Whilst we all recognise the value of ‘Open Events’ in enabling students and parents to find out more about the educational provision offered at our schools, our priority during this current public health crisis is to ensure the safety of our schools and the wider community. Open Events in our schools are popular and inevitably bring parents and children from a wide area into relatively close proximity which increases the risk of community transmission.
As a group of schools we are committed to ensuring we offer an online experience that supports all families to make informed decisions on school transfer. Each school will, of course, plan their online open events to take account of their specific context. Parents are encouraged to check the websites of our individual schools for further information.
