Talented Students Recognised in KM 'Bright Spark' Awards
Congratulations to three Hayesbrook Year 9 students for coming second in the finals of the KM Bright Spark Awards.
Sam Ashbrook, Adam Childs and Michael Webb were invited to the annual awards event in the Discovery Park, which was run in a 'Dragons’ Den'-style format. Their project was a First Aid drone which can be activated using a wrist watch and can deliver the first aid kit faster and to the places where it is difficult for an ambulance to reach. The students were filmed in advance in school, demonstrating the detail of their project. The film was screened before the students took to the stage to describe their creation, after which the 'dragons' quizzed them on their initiative.
There were 11 teams in the finals, mostly from Kent grammar school. For coming in second place, the students won £200 for the school.
Well done boys!
