100% Attendance Students Rewarded with Trip to The Amex Stadium
During September 65% of our total number of students in years 7-11 managed to achieve 100% attendance.
As a reward, 27 lucky pupils were given the opportunity to purchase tickets for our first reward trip of the new academic year. On the evening of the 18th October 2016, the pupils were treated to a Championship football fixture between Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Before the game the group traveled down to Brighton after our enrichment hour and arrived in plenty of time to visit the club shop and enjoy some of the fast food outside of the ground. As part of the ticket entry the pupils were able to use a 10% discount on memorabilia. On entering the ground we discoverer that we were lucky enough to be right at the front so the excitement was at the front of our minds as we took in the design of the Amex Stadium.
Kick off soon approached and the pattern of the game quickly developed as Brighton passed the ball quickly and with endeavor. On the 14 minute mark the only goal of the game was scored by Sam Baldock via a header. The boys had a fantastic view of the goal and were in full voice as they celebrated. Despite only one goal being scored during the game this was not a reflection on how exciting the game was and in particular the last few minutes when Wolves so nearly equalised.
The group returned to Hayesbrook just after 11pm and despite the lateness on a school night the boys were back in school the next day sharing their experiences with their friends. It was also nice to receive some really positive feedback from some of our new Year 7 parents:
"Harvey had a fantastic time watching the football yesterday, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank you and the other teachers for taking Harvey (and all the other boys)" - Mr and Mrs Fordham.
