Hayesbrook students receive Physicist of the Year Award

Charlie Piper-Gamage (Year 10) and Ethan Basso (Year 12) were named recipients of the Ogden Trust's Student Physicist of The Year Award 2016.

Charlie collected his certificate and prize in person at the University of Kent, and enjoyed a tour of the labs and an entertaining lecture on Impact Physics.

They were nominated by Mrs Chambers, who said: "We are fortunate in having many students who work hard at the subject and enjoy finding out about the world around them, but Ethan and Charlie's consistent work ethic and enquiring approach made them stand out."

The Ogden Trust supports all of its student award holders by offering financial assistance should they go on to study physics after leaving school, as well as helping with internships, mentoring and arranging workshops. Well done to both!
