2016 Year 8 Geography trip to Reculver: Report
On Tuesday 14 June, 39 Year 8 pupils and 3 members of staff visited Reculver on the North Kent coast for a day of coastal field work.
Students completed coastal based field work, looking at coastal defences, beach profiles, long shore drift, land use, field sketches and wave counts. All of the pupils got to use field work equipment that had been purchased with money donated by the PTA including ranging poles, clinometers, tape measures, cameras and data recording sheets.
Trip leader and Assistant Principal Mr Reader said: "It was fantastic to see all of the pupils working so well together to complete all of the varying data recording opportunities. It is vital that pupils have opportunities to learn outside of the classroom and then put what they have learned into practice back at Hayesbrook".
The next geography field trips include a Year 7 visit to the Olympic Park, Stratford on 30 June 2016 and a Year 11 residential trip to Norfolk from 28 - to 30 September 2016.
