Royal Marines challenge Hayesbrook KS3 students

The Royal Marines Youth Engagement Team visited on 10th December, to work with 60 Key Stage 3 pupils.

The pupils were given information about life in the military forces and were then put through their paces from a physical point of view and a leadership challenge. The pupils performed admirably and represented the school with maturity and enthusiasm.

Assistant Principal Mr Reader commented: "Whilst not all of the pupils will aspire to join the military the session provided a fantastic opportunity to develop team work, leadership and awareness of others. These are skills and attributes that many employers look for and it was great to push the students out of their comfort zone".

The Royal Marines will be welcomed back again next year, which should allow time for the students to recover!
