DofE Students Successfully Complete Bronze Expedition
Congratulations to all our DofE students in the completion of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze qualifying expedition.
The students began their expedition in Forest Row and carrying all their equipment for the weekend, successfully navigated to Adamswell Campsite in Langton Green. The second day saw them walk to the final destination of Crowborough Leisure Centre. Teams had to complete a project throughout the weekend; some groups chose to focus on team work and others chose to monitor the amount of litter found in the countryside.
One of the assessors, commented: "The boys at Hayesbrook did superbly well, both in terms of navigation and also in terms of camp craft. I was really impressed by how polite and engaged the boys were and also how organised and well they worked as a team."
In addition to partaking in the expedition section of the award, the boys have also completed three other sections – volunteering, physical and skill.
The Duke of Edinburgh award is open to students in Years 9 through to 13. If your son is interested or would like more information, please see Mr Waight or click here to visit the DofE pages on our website.
