Duke of Edinburgh Participants Tackle First Training Day

Well done to all of the Duke of Edinburgh Award participants who successfully completed their Bronze Training Day 1 at The Hayesbrook School.

The students worked in groups to complete a number of training activities including navigation theory, first aid skills and cooking on a trangia stove. It was really pleasing to see the students so engaged with the day and learning lots of new and useful skills. Our second training day is on the 10th March, where they will be plotting their route for the practise expedition and will also go on a three hour day walk to put into practise the navigation skills learnt from training day 1.
