Sports Leaders Host Primary Basketball Contest

The School Sport Partnership based at Hayesbrook hosted a School Games Mini Basketball competition for 10 local primary schools in the Tonbridge area.

At the event there were 6 sport leaders from Hayesbrook school who volunteered their time to umpire the matches.  Following the success of the knock-out competition, on Wednesday 13 December we welcomed back two schools who competed in a play-off match for qualification to the Kent School Games Mini Basketball finals!  At this event two Year 11 Sport Leaders, Rabin Pun and Gautam Juneja, umpired again to determine a winner for the Tonbridge area. The event was a great success and without the help and support of the sport leaders it would not of been possible to provide this opportunity for the local primary school children.  A huge thanks goes to all our willing young leaders.

The Hayesbrook School and the School Sport Partnership are proud to announce the renewal of the Sport Leaders programme, which is set to resume next term, for students in Year 8 to Year 13 to gain a qualification that is highly sought after.
