YEAR 11 WORK EXPERIENCE 2012

GENERAL INFORMATION

The safety of our students is of paramount importance.  Only employers who have Employers Liability Insurance and Public Liability Insurance can be used for work experience.

• All work experience placements must be health and safety checked in advance.  Under no circumstances can a student attend work experience unless a check has taken place.  It can take as long as 3.- 4 months to get clearance because often we have to send someone to visit the employer.
   
• Please complete the consent form and the statement about health matters. We have to pass health information to the people who do the health and safety checks.  The employer is entitled to know of any matter that may affect the wellbeing of the student or safety in the workplace.
  
  
• Because of the extra health and safety rules, students who do not have arrangements in place before the end of the summer term will have to stay in school

Although work experience is not taking place until September, good placements are not easy to find.  Please start to make arrangements now.
