Matthew Timbers (A5)

Matthew Timbers waltzed away with the second best performance of the Northern Masters Ballroom and Latin Formation Dance Competition 2015.

Matthew Timbers, a Year 11 student at The Hayesbrook School, represented the Ditton based Starlite School of Dance in the Northern Masters Ballroom and Latin Formation Dance competition in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 14th March 2015. Matthew waltzed away wtth the second best performance of the day.

Dancing with team mate Katie Pring and accompanied by fellow dancers  Allen Wesson, Lucy Allan, Bradley Taylor, Alice Smith, Alfie Penton and Micha Smallwood young Matthew was delighted at his second place from teams competing from all corners of England and Wales.

Matthew remarked "I'm over the moon with the results from the weekend and honoured to say I was part of the prestigious event, we were only one point away from winning it! We all as a team look forward to competing again in the midst of April in the Blackpool Winter Gardens UK Formation Championship."

A proud Stephen Timbers, the father of Matthew, commented: "The team have done really well; I am really glad that their hard work has paid off. I'm really proud of Matthew, and happy that his dedication is bringing such success."

David Day, the Principal of Hayesbrook, added "Matthew is a delightful student. We are proud of his dancing. It is his fine character which marks him out as an exceptional young man."
