The Hayesbrook School

Sports report: Football - Year 11 vs. Howard School

The Year 11’s took part in their first match since winning the Kent cup in the summer, and were up against Howard School in the National Cup.

With a slightly depleted squad, the boys played a great game, full of determination and commitment.

After defending so well in the first half, Hayesbrook took a deserved lead early in the 2nd half through Rob Lawrence. In a moment of madness, Hayesbrook then conceded 2 goals within a minute. With time against them, and Hayesbrook defending superbly to stay in the game, Tom Ryan equalised with a fantastic chip in a rare Hayesbrook attack. We managed to hold on to the end of the game, which sent us to penalties.

Hayesbrook unfortunately went onto lose 4-2 on penalties, after some clinical finishing from the Howard players. A great effort from the boys, who are still in at least 2 cups, with a potential replay against Howard in the Kent cup.

Well done boys!
