The Hayesbrook School

Sports report: Athletics - Year 8 and Year 10

Year 8 and 10 represented Hayesbrook with distinction the school in the first athletics fixture of the season.

The Year 8 squad relied upon 3 athletes Saul Musengeyi, Luke Macro and Kieron Skinner. Sprinted well and excelled at both triple and long jump. Kieron and Luke  took part in shot putt, Javelin and discus. It was the first time the boys had attempted this discipline.

Year 10 had 2 athletes in every event resulting in a comfortable overall win for Hayesbrook by a margin of 90 points. Sam Crick won his 800m race comfortably and finished runner up at 1500m. Sam Healy put in some powerful throws in the javelin, shot and discus, and Joe Robinson won his 200m event.

All 8 boys representing Year 10 competed in the 4 x 100m relay. Praise to Joe Robinson, Jake Pinnell, Bradley Lines, Sam Healy, Will Webb, Jordan Hatt, Sam Crick and Eddie Bellord for going from the gun. Hayesbrook finished first and third in this relay.

Next weeks’ event is against Hugh Christie. Come and support the boys and join in.

A huge thank you and well done to all the boys who represented the school!
