Sports report: Football - Year 7 vs. St Gregory's

The Year 7s’ fixture was the last of the day.  As the temperature was warming up, both teams managed to produce an excellent game of football.

Josh Tobin got Hayesbrook off to a great start with a fine finish past the goalkeeper to put us 1 - 0 up.  However, disaster struck as Hayesbrook went onto concede four goals before half time.

The boys came out in the second half determined to put things right and did themselves proud.  Tom Powell scored an incredible volley from outside the box which rifled into the top corner. The goal gave the boys belief they could get back into the game.  Finley Rutherford then scored with a lovely chip over the keeper to bring the scores to 4 - 3. Hayesbrook huffed and puffed but couldn’t find a fourth goal.  A fantastic second half from the boys, who will look to bring home the silverware next season!

Final Score: Hayesbrook 3 - 4 St Gregory's
