Sports report: Football - Year 10 vs. Mascalls

Hayesbrook's Year 10s played their last game of the season against Mascalls on Thursday evening and came out 3-1 winners.

Lee Chapman put Hayesbrook in front half way through the first half, diving in at the far post after a great delivery in from Rocco Jackson. The boys then conceded only their third goal of the league campaign, which Max Wilmhurst could do little about as it was a rocket shot that flew into the top corner from 20 yards.  1-1 at half time.

The team started the second half slowly at Mascalls were first to every ball early. However in these periods, Septimus and Harrison kept out any danger with some resolute defending, supported by Max sweeping up. Having weathered the storm Hayesbrook then went ahead through a Tom Ryan header from close range. Lee Chapman then finished the game with another close range finish into the top corner.

Another great victory for the boys, who have now finished top of the league and await their opponents in the league cup final next May. Well done!

Final Score: Hayesbrook 3 - 1 Mascalls
