Sports report: Football - Year 8 vs. St Gregory's

The Year 8’s achieved their first win in Hayesbrook colours last night with a crucial 3-2 away victory over St Gregory's Catholic School.

James Saunders started the goal scoring, with a fine finish on his debut for the team. Elliot Duncan who had an excellent game, then scored 2 great goals to put the team 3-0 up. The boys were unfortunate to concede a deflected goal just before half time, which changed the game.

St Gregs came out strongly in the 2nd half and scored to make it 3-2. In a nervy finish, Hayesbrook managed to hold on for a crucial win. The team defended well, with Alfie Goater in goal sweeping things up. It was a team effort and the boys will now look to push on for further wins.

Final score: Hayesbrook 3-2 St Gregory's

Well done boys!
