Sports report: Football - Year 10 vs. Knole Academy

The Year 10s continued their unbeaten form in the league by drawing 1-1 with close rivals Knole Academy on Monday evening.

After an even start, Rob Lawrence got the team’s only goal with a speculative attempt from 30 yards. The Knole goalkeeper fumbled the ball into the net to gift Hayesbrook the lead. Knole academy got back into the game before half time by equalising to make it 1-1.

The 2nd half was end-to-end with chances falling to both sides, but neither team could find the deciding goal. With 5 minutes to go Callum Goater bought down a Knole winger, giving away a penalty, but thankfully Knole put the penalty wide. That was the last action of the game and both teams shared the points. Final score: 1-1.

The Year 10s now look forward to their next league game which is away to St Greg’s next week.
