The Hayesbrook School

Sports report: Football - Year 9 vs. Swadelands

The Year 9 football team began their 2015-16 Kent Cup campaign with a trip to Lenham to face a fierce Swadelands School side.

Within the opening 10 minutes Saul Musengeyi opened up the score line with a quality ball from left midfielder, Jake Bennet, who also had 4 assists in the game. Not long after, Sam Babayale made a perfect cross to Ned Lewis, who nicely headed it in to double the score line and to cushion Hayesbrook’s lead.  Ned Lewis doubled his tally and scored a third to Hayesbrook, with an unstoppable over the top through ball from Sam Lawrence, Ned hit it on his weak left foot on the half volley just before half time. Hayesbrook played some really nice football in the first half. The team played really well together, keeping possession of the ball magnificently.

In the second half the game seemed to settle but Swadelands wouldn’t take a defeat so they softly pressured Hayesbrook.  In the second half Hayesbrook finished another goal, this time a perfect left foot, right foot and headed hatrick from Ned Lewis. Ned ran through the tiring defence and slotted one home to make it 4-0 to ‘the blues’, with outstanding performances from Sam Lawrence who ran the midfield and Luke Adams who remained positive throughout the game. Tyler Richardson had another great game in midfield.

We wish Swadelands the best of luck in the future.  On to the next round in the cup for Hayesbrook - well played boys!
