Hayesbrook Easter Ski Trip 2017 to Pila, Italy
For this years’ ski trip, Hayesbrook visited the resort of Pila in Italy, staying in a lovely hotel with our group as the sole occupants.
Our Hayesbrook students on the trip ranged from complete beginners to advanced skiers but all made fabulous progress with Harry Stevenson even filmed on one of the afternoons for the potential offer of a scholarship to train as a ski instructor with Interski! Harry Martin also demonstrated fantastic technical skiing ability and the biggest improvement over the week for skiing goes to Ben Sellors. Jack Deadman went from a complete beginner to being able to link parallel turns by the end of the week.
Our boarders also made fantastic progress with Joe Francis, Henry Whysall, Tommy Spinks and Andrew Wilson now able to skilfully board any slope on the mountain in style. Alfie Owen, George Stevenson, Miles Bramley and Jack Hodgson were initially new to boarding but were fast learners and able to board red runs by the end of the week. Even Mr Miller made great progress and learnt how to control his speed and direction at times! There was good snow conditions throughout the week and the slopes catered nicely for all abilities of skiers and boarders.
We had a superb trip, the facilities were excellent as was the Italian food! The après ski program was also of high quality and we enjoyed activities ranging from bowling, a quiz night, pizza night, ice cream parlours and a visit to a Nike store. The students behaved impeccably and were a credit to the school. We are planning on returning to this resort for another fantastic week in Easter 2018!
