Sports report: Rugby - Year 8 vs. Trinity School

The game on Wednesday was a difficult match for the Year 8 rugby team, playing at home against a strong team from Trinity School.

From kick off we knew it wouldn't be an easy game when they scored a converted try in a matter of minutes. With some hard work and determination from the team, Ben Sellors with some lovely footwork, pulled one back. By the end of the first half it was 21-21 with the other two trys scored by some strong runs from the captain Owen Harrington. None of the trys would of been possible without the amazing rucks and scrums by the forwards and some crunching tackles by Finlay Collins, Ben Hermitage and Zack Collier. Not to mention the outstanding kicks from Finlay.

In the second half we were all tired and ready to just finish and go home, but still we persevered. With some tactical kicking from Jamie Tutt, Roman came through and scored. A few amazing contests for the ball from Liam and Ben Higgings meant that Isaac could use his remarkable pace to run the length of the pitch. The end result was 45-40 to Hayesbrook. We all played a very good game, ready to face TWGSB next week.
