The Hayesbrook School

Sports Report: Football - Year 7 vs. Skinners Kent Academy

The Year 7s drew 0-0 against Skinners Kent Academy on Thursday 9 November to get their first points of the season.

It was anything but a bore draw in foggy conditions on the Hayesbrook 3G pitch. The boys put in a determined display and carried out their defensive duties brilliantly to get their first clean sheet. After a difficult period in the first half, where Hayesbrook struggled to get out of the own half, the boys started to get control of the ball better in the second period, and were unfortunate not to get their first goal in 6 games.

The SKA keeper pulled out some good saves to deny Jack, Louie and Owen throughout the second half. Jack Scott had a great game in the centre of the pack, particularly in the second half where he was controlling proceedings. The back three as a unit stayed solid throughout, with Mason in the middle, along with the midfield players, who tracked their opponents all the way and supported the attack when they could. But it was a team effort to earn a clean sheet.

We go into next week with confidence against St Gregs. Well done boys!
